Processing Aid

Processing Aids are specialty additives designed to improve the melt processability,

surface quality, and flow characteristics of thermoplastics, particularly PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). They are generally acrylic-based polymers that do not chemically react with the base resin but modify its rheological behavior, enabling smoother processing and better end-product appearance.

Processing aids are essential in improving throughput, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing product consistency in extrusion, calendaring, and molding processes.

Key Features

  • Improves melt fluidity and fusion of PVC compounds
  • Enhances surface gloss, smoothness, and dimensional stability
  • Promotes faster gelation and improved output rates
  • Reduces die build-up, melt fracture, and shrinkage
  • Aids in the dispersion of fillers and pigments
  • Compatible with rigid and flexible PVC formulations
  • Available in multiple grades tailored to different applications

Main Applications

1. Rigid PVC Extrusion

  • Pipes, profiles, window frames, siding
  • Enhances melt strength and surface finish
  • Improves wall thickness control and dimensional accuracy

2. PVC Foamed Sheets & Boards

  • Assists in maintaining cell structure and uniform foaming
  • Prevents surface defects and improves stiffness

3. PVC Films & Calendering

  • Reduces die swell and ensures optical clarity in films
  • Allows smoother film formation and improved stretchability

4. Injection Molding

  • Improves flowability, cycle time, and demolding characteristics
  • Useful in thin-wall or complex mold designs
